30 poems in 30 days ✔️
Plus, what's in store for May!
Hi again! Well, the day has come (and gone, since this post is going up very early on May 1)—the final poem of the National Poetry Month a-poem-a-day challenge issued by my esteemed colleagues at the Poetry Society of NH.
And here it is.
4/30/25 I’ve ended a journey like this with you before. Something, every day. Thirty days, x12. I said, let’s continue the journey like this with you before. And I really had hoped. And I really did try. For a day or two or a few. But life, as it does, Always surprises. And not until now, thirty days ago, Did I pick up the journey. Something, every day, like this with you before. Will we continue tomorrow?
As you probably know (unless you’re brand new here, in which case, hi!), I wrote a poem for my wife every day of 2021. I had hoped to continue the practice into 2022 and beyond. But life got in the way. I’m sure many of you can relate. This past month has been my first opportunity to jump back into the daily practice. As before, I hope to continue it beyond April. We shall see…
It has been wonderful to flex these muscles again, and, this time, share it twice a week with all of you. Not to mention a pair of wonderful chats with old friends and fellow substackers Kimberly Jane Nasrul | MFT and Katie DeBonville.
So what happens now? Well, May is shaping up to be very special in its own right. In honor of Mother’s Day, we’ll be celebrating A Month of Mothers here, with special posts, live chats, videos, and the release of a special edition of Every Day, Luv with personalized poems written exclusively for your mom, grandma, daughter, or anyone special in your life. Order form will be live in the coming days.
In the meantime, see you back here soon!
